First Date Questions

First dates are easier when you have a few good questions ready. These first date questions are light, friendly and open enough to start real conversation, without feeling like a job interview. Ask about favorite places, weekend habits, travel, food and the little things that make someone light up.

You do not need to bring your phone to the table: skim the list before you go and remember three or four. If you want a playful icebreaker, open the game together and draw a card each. Every question here is depth level 1, so nothing is too personal for a first meeting. You can always skip one and pick another.

Open, easy ones like "What is the best thing you ate this month?" or "What do you do on a perfect Saturday?" They are friendly and give the other person room to talk.

What should you avoid asking on a first date?

Skip questions about exes, salary or very personal topics. Keep it light and curious; deeper questions can come on later dates.

How many questions should I prepare?

Three or four is plenty. Good conversation comes from follow-up questions, so listen and ask "how did that happen?"

Can we play a game on a first date?

Yes, if the mood is right. This or That and Would You Rather are quick and playful ways to break the ice.
